It’s sometimes referred to as the Vampire Facial or Vampire Facelift. A Vampire Facial combines PRP and dermal filler treatments.

The treatment works by using your body’s own platelet-rich plasma and injecting it back into the scalp or face. This process promotes skin healing by releasing a large amount of growth factors from your platelets, which, in turn, stimulates the growth of hair and skin cells.

PRP stimulates collagen, elastin and cellular growth, as well as improving local blood supply, hydration, skin texture and tone. PRP refines lines and wrinkles, reduces acne scars and stretchmarks.

Who is PRP suitable for?

PRP therapy is suitable for anyone who is fit and healthy and would like to boost their complexion or improve hair growth on the scalp. People who should consider alternative treatments are those who are pregnant, or have active acne or blood disorders.

What does a PRP treatment involve?

PRP is a minimally-invasive treatment that takes around 30-45 minutes using the platelet-rich plasma from your own blood. Your practitioner will extract blood from your arm, like a standard blood test. The blood is then placed into a centrifuge and spun for 10 minutes to separate the platelets and plasma from the other blood components. Your practitioner will inject the platelet-rich plasma into the desired area, whether it be scalp or face.

How quickly can I see the results of PRP?

You’ll notice the results within 3 weeks of treatment. A course of treatment may be required depending on your skin condition.

Can I carry on with my normal life while having PRP?

Yes, there is minimal downtime after the treatment although your skin may feel sore. Any soreness and swelling will subside within 2 days.

The treatment

On the day of your PRP treatment you’ll have time to ask any last-minute questions before the treatment is started. Your practitioner will take blood from your arm – like a standard blood test, and this will be used to extract the platelet rich plasma for your treatment. Your tube of blood will be placed into a centrifuge for about 10 minutes to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the other components in the blood.

If you are having PRP for hair loss, our practitioner then will take the plasma and inject it into your scalp to help trigger natural hair growth, by increasing the blood supply to the hair follicle. For face/skin replenishment, your treatment may include microneedling, dermal filler or fractional laser. Microneedling and fractional laser are used to create tiny channels deep into the skin. The plasma is then applied and soaks into the pin-prick holes. The treatment takes between 30 and 45 minutes. Dermal fillers are used to add volume and definition to the face.

Recovery

You’ll be able to leave the clinic on the same day as the treatment. Your skin may feel sore from the small injections and there may be bruising or swelling, which usually settles within a couple of days
